No Natural Disaster

Okay, so the big Time Magazine cover story isn't very good timing as far as selling a house in New Orleans is concerned, but I knew from the first sentence of Michael Grunwald's lengthy piece that this one was going to be interesting.

"The most important thing to remember about the drowning of New Orleans is that it wasn't a natural disaster," Grunwald writes. "It was a man-made disaster, created by lousy engineering, misplaced priorities and pork-barrel politics."

My realtor was moaning and groaning about the story yesterday--it really IS bad for business.

But on the other hand, it's nice hearing some validation from somewhere outside NOLA that this was a monstrous, engineering-driven screw-up.

But it's still a great place to live, and I know of a nice uptown house for sale...
